Legacy Points — Your Account's Savings Account, Friend!

How it works

• Complete Legacy Challenges to earn Legacy Points, then spend them on Legacy Perks. Points also unlock cosmetic Legacy Rewards.
• Points belong to your Battle.net account. Each character spends them on its own build.
• Each character can spend 16 points at launch.
• The system unlocks with your first point, usually your first character reaching level 25. Reaching 150 skill in a crafting profession or exploring the whole world map also works.
• Open it with the shield icon in the menu, or press Y.

How to earn points

There are 65 challenges at launch, 1 point each. A single character can reach 29, so alts are optional.

• Classes (27): reach level 25, 45 and 60 for the first time on each of the 9 classes.
• Tradeskills (18): reach 150, 225 and 300 in Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking and Tailoring.
• PvP (12): PvP ranks 3, 7, 10, 13 and 14, Exalted with each battleground reputation, and Season's Journey weeks 4, 7 and 10.
• Adventure (2): explore the entire world map on one character, and complete the Lord Valthalak questline.
• Dungeons (3): defeat the final boss of every dungeon in the 15-25, 26-45 and 46-60 bands.
• Raids (3): Onyxia (see the attunement guide), all Hyjal Summit bosses, all Barrow Deeps bosses. Raids open on 9 December 2026.

The three perk trees

• Professions: faster skill-ups, more Scarce materials when gathering, cheaper vendor goods (Bartering no longer discounts class training or repairs since October 15), extra cooking and fishing results.
• Adventure: faster rested XP, earlier talents, cheaper and faster flights, health and mana back after kills.
• Resourcefulness: longer food buffs, less durability loss on death, more honor and reputation, no vendor reagents for class abilities.

Best picks for leveling alts

1. Well Rested: rested XP builds up to 20% faster and its cap grows by up to 20%. Pairs well with the Cozy Sleeping Bag.
2. Talented: your talent points come up to 5 levels earlier.
3. Frequent Flier: flight paths cost half and the flight mount is 20% faster.
4. Thrill of Adventure: after a kill you get health and mana back, so less sitting down.

There is no direct XP bonus among the perks: Well Rested only boosts rested XP. Changed your mind? Reset your perks at your class trainer.

The Spectral Bear rewards

Rewards count every point you earn, even beyond 16. Claim them from Innkeeper Wiley in Ratchet:

• 15 points: Replica Ironforge Air Rifle (toy)
• 25 points: Spectral Bear Cub (pet, beta value)
• 40 points: Spectral Bear Tabard
• 55 points: Reins of the Spectral Bear (mount). Every other way to get a mount: WoW Forever mounts and riding
