About our data

"A goblin never sells a map he hasn't walked. Here's how we check ours."

Where it comes from

  • Blizzard first: announcements, developer notes, blue posts, press material, and the official Blizzard API as soon as it covers WoW Forever.
  • The beta: what players and guide writers saw in the WoW Forever beta, cross-checked between several public sources.
  • Public guides and databases: we read them to find facts, then re-check each fact and write our own text. We never copy another site's text or images.
  • The game files: maps and some data tables come from the public WoW Forever game files. They get the Game files seal until Blizzard's API confirms them. We never publish unreleased or hidden content.

What the seals mean

SealMeaning
Official dataConfirmed by Blizzard (announcement or official API).
Beta dataSeen in the beta by several sources. Can still change at launch.
Game filesRead in the public WoW Forever game files. Accurate for the current build, can change with a patch.
One sourceOnly one source says it so far. Useful, but treat it with care.
Sources disagreeWe show the most common value and the others in one line.
Not known yetNobody can confirm it yet. Often because of the level-30 rule.

Every page lists its sources at the bottom, so you can check for yourself.

The level-30 rule

The WoW Forever beta stops at level 30. Anything above 30 (dungeons, talents, gear, quests) can't be tested yet, so we show "Not known yet — the beta stops at level 30" instead of guessing. We fill those pages in launch week, from November 4.

Only WoW Forever

We describe the game as it is in WoW Forever, not how it used to be. Old Classic values are never shown as if they were Forever facts.

When the API opens

When Blizzard opens its API for WoW Forever, every fact we hold is checked against it. Confirmed facts switch to Official data, with the date of the check.

Illustrations

Some illustrations on the site, such as the armory backgrounds and our Discord icons, are made with Google Gemini from our own prompts. Game icons and maps come from the game files and belong to Blizzard Entertainment.
