Privacy policy

In short

One More Wipe has no accounts and no ads. We do not know who you are and we do not want to. We keep short-lived technical logs that protect the site, anonymous visit statistics measured on our own server without cookies, and a few settings stored in your own browser.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the publisher of One More Wipe (see the legal notice). You can reach us at:

What we process, and why

Technical logs. When you load a page, our server and our content delivery network see technical information such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and your browser type. We use it only to keep the site running and to block attacks. IP addresses are truncated or hashed in our logs, and logs are deleted after 30 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure (article 6.1.f of the GDPR).

Your settings and progress. Your faction choice (Horde, Alliance or "stay neutral"), the Legacy challenges you tick and the guide steps you mark as done are stored in your browser only, never sent to us. Shared planner links contain only your perk build, nothing about you. See the cookies page for the full list.

Visit statistics. To know which guides are useful, we count visits with Umami, an open-source tool that runs on our own server. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page viewed, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and your country, region and city (worked out from your IP address, which is never stored). Search terms in page addresses are not recorded. The numbers are anonymous, used only by us, never shared, never combined with other data and never used to follow you on other sites. They are kept for 25 months at most. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site (article 6.1.f of the GDPR), within the audience-measurement exemption of the CNIL, which is why no consent is asked. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, your visits are not counted. Armory (character search). When someone looks up a character, we ask Blizzard's official API for that character's public profile (name, realm, level, race, class, guild, gear, talents, PvP rank, statistics, avatar) and keep a copy in our database so the page loads fast. A character name is pseudonymous personal data. The copy is refreshed when the page is viewed again and deleted when nobody has opened it for 30 days. We never record who searched for which character: no IP address and no account is stored with it, our application never writes the name in its logs (the technical logs above may hold the page address and are deleted after 30 days), and our visit statistics count armory pages without the realm or the name. The lists "Recently viewed" and "Favorites" stay in your browser. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering a free armory from data Blizzard makes public (article 6.1.f of the GDPR). If this is your character and you want its page gone, write to us at the address above with the region, realm and name: we remove it within 30 days and never fetch it again.

That is all. We do not use advertising, social media buttons or any third-party tracker, and we never sell or share data for profiling.

Who else processes data

  • Our host, which runs the server in a data center in France (see the legal notice).
  • Cloudflare, Inc., which delivers the pages, protects the site against attacks and forwards emails sent to our addresses. Cloudflare may process your IP address outside the European Union, under the safeguards required by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Cloudflare also keeps its own logs, under its own privacy policy.

If you email us, your message is forwarded by Cloudflare to the mailbox we use to read it, run by Google (Gmail), and kept only as long as needed to answer it. Search engines are free to visit the site; we ask AI crawlers that only collect content to train models not to, through our robots.txt.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete data about you, or object to its processing. Since we keep no profile, there is usually nothing to find beyond the technical logs, which are deleted after 30 days. Write to us at the address above.

You can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Changes

If anything here changes, for example when player accounts arrive, this page will be updated before the change goes live, with a new date at the bottom.
