Healing potion recipes belong to First Aid, not Alchemy. First Aid is a secondary skill: any character can learn it on top of two primary professions.
First Aid still makes bandages, and bandages heal for more than before, according to one guide.
No crafting station needed: open your professions (K) and craft anywhere, according to one guide.

Learn First Aid in your first town and level it with Linen Bandages from the cloth you loot.
Pick Herbalism as a gathering profession, or buy herbs: Peacebloom, Briarthorn and Bruiseweed cover levels 1-30.

Alchemy still has Discolored Healing Potions: they heal more at first, then hurt you over time. Since the October 8 beta build, that damage no longer breaks crowd control.
First Aid also makes curatives (Anti-Venom, poultices, tourniquets) and the First Aid Kit camp item. Camping.
