Upper Blackrock Spire

• Groups of 10.
• Level 59-60 players with the Seal of Ascension (see the FAQ).
• Alliance: the General Drakkisath's Demise chain ends here. Horde: the Warlord's Command chain, which our source cuts off.
• In the original game, party quests can't be done in a raid group (to verify in Forever).

Same portal as Lower Blackrock Spire, at the top of Blackrock Mountain; in the original game, the left ramp inside leads up. In the order given by one Forever guide:

1. Pyroguard Emberseer, in the Hall of Binding.
2. Solakar Flamewreath, in the Rookery.
3. Goraluk Anvilcrack, in the Hall of Blackhand.
4. Gyth, then Warchief Rend Blackhand, in Blackrock Stadium.
5. The Beast, in the Furnace.
6. General Drakkisath, the last boss, on the Spire Throne.

A rare, Jed Runewatcher, may show up in the Hall of Blackhand or near The Beast. Sources disagree on the boss count (5 or 7) and the order: we check it in game at launch.

• Pyroguard Emberseer: kill the Blackhand Incarcerators and he breaks free. Fire Nova and Flame Buffet, whose numbers changed in Forever (untested).
• Solakar Flamewreath: Father Flame calls waves of Hatchers and Guardians; eggs hatch whelps near players. War Stomp.
• Goraluk Anvilcrack: Head Crack, Backhand and Strike. The Blood Stained Pike for The Demon Forge is on his body.
• Gyth: frontal breaths, Freeze and a knockback. Rend joins the fight.
• Warchief Rend Blackhand: kill the Dragon Handlers first. Whirlwind, Mortal Strike, Cleave, Enrage.
• The Beast: fears with Terrifying Roar and charges. A skinner can free Finkle Einhorn.
• General Drakkisath: kill his two Chromatic Elite Guards first. Conflagration burns and panics. Two tanks.
• Jed Runewatcher (rare): Shield Charge, Shield Bash and Strike.

Take these before entering, or you'll run it twice:

• The key: the Seal of Ascension chain, from Vaelan inside Lower Blackrock Spire.
• Morgan's Vigil, Burning Steppes (Alliance): Maxwell's Mission → General Drakkisath's Command (dropped by Wyrmthalak in Lower Blackrock Spire) → General Drakkisath's Demise, done here.
• Kargath, Badlands (Horde): Warlord's Command (Warlord Goretooth). The rest of the chain is not in our source.
• Burning Steppes: Left and Right Piece of Lord Valthalak's Amulet (Bodley, at the portal).
• Inside the spire: Hot Fiery Death starts at Human Remains and ends with Malyfous Darkhammer in Winterspring.
• Also named, details missing: Blackhand's Command, The Demon Forge, Egg Freezing, Finkle Einhorn and Mea Culpa Lord Valthalak. To verify.

Quest counts in our source don't add up (18 in total, 13 per faction listed).

• The Rookery: eggs hatch whelps near players.
• Rend joins the Gyth fight in the stadium; whether it's one encounter in Forever is to verify.
• Drakkisath's guards go down first.
• Loot not final: one source says about 35 boss drops from the original game are missing from the Forever item database, though still in the game files. Dungeon Set 1 pieces have new stats, with bonuses at 2/3/4/5/6 pieces (one source).
• Experience: dungeon quests give half the earlier bonus since Oct 1 (one source).
