Faction entrance
Horde-side dungeon. Alliance: "safe passage", method unknown.
Confirmed in ForeverAt a glance
New in Forever: the ruined capital above Undercity, 6 bosses and a rare. Horde-side, with quests for both factions.
Old ruins, fresh trouble. Whoever left this place empty left the good stuff behind. Finders keepers.
Who it's for
- Horde players: 6 dungeon quests, from Undercity, Tirisfal Glades and Silverpine Forest.
- Alliance players: 4 dungeon quests, from a captain and items inside the dungeon, turned in at Stormwind and Darkshire.
- New dungeon in WoW Forever, for 5 players (one source).
The route, in plain words
- The entrance. Witherfang is near the entrance (King's Alley area) and patrols with Broodlings.
- The south side. The Baron waits at the end of a southeast hallway. Viktor the Vile is in the southwest: light the Grim Campfire in the fireplace of a ruined house to summon him.
- The west and northwest. Walk near the statue with glowing red eyes to summon The Abandoned. Bjork is at the end of a northwest corridor.
- The center. Rath'mael is in the middle of the dungeon: clear the mobs around him first.
Boss order as given by the beta guides; we check it in game at launch.
The bosses in one line each
- Witherfang: poisons the tank, and his Broodlings can jump players.
- The Baron: cleaves, so melee stand behind. His knockback also stuns and drops threat: taunt him back.
- Viktor the Vile: waves of skeletons come first, then a plain fight. He drains the healer's mana: use potions and self-heals.
- The Abandoned: three waves of mobs first. Interrupt or stun Drain Life. His Frost Armor slows attackers and can't be dispelled; Frost Nova roots you.
- Bjork: use physical damage while his Anti-Magic Shield is up. His knockback can push you into packs.
- Rath'mael: interrupt or stun Flamestrike. Melee take area damage around him: heal through it.
- Lordaeron Captain (rare): spawns in the west after every other boss dies. Horde only.
Quests to grab before you go
Take these before entering, or you'll run it twice:
- Horde, Undercity: Light's Justice (Morbin Lightbane), The New Plague (Theodore Griffs) and Crest of Lordaeron (turn in to Oran Snakewrithe).
- Horde, Tirisfal Glades: The Wrath of Rath'mael (Deathguard Kristof).
- Horde, Silverpine Forest: A Frightened Request (Tabitha Heartweaver; sources also spell it Tabetha).
- Horde, inside: The Baron drops the Abominable Head, which starts Unending Torment, a chain that begins with Master Apothecary Faranell in Undercity.
- Alliance, inside: Abominable Creatures from Captain Truman, near the entrance.
- Alliance, found in the dungeon: the Bloodied Insignia (from skeletons) for Bloodied Insignia, the Crest for Crest of Lordaeron, and a bloodstained letter near the graveyard for Remember That I Love You. Turn-ins are in Stormwind, and the letter chain ends in Darkshire.
Minimum levels are 15 or 16; sources disagree on three quests: to verify.
Watch out
- Knockbacks from The Baron and Bjork can throw you into the next pack.
- The Crest spawns at random, in one of five spots (to verify).
- The Lordaeron Captain has a long patrol near many mobs.
- Remember That I Love You can't be shared, unlike the other quests (to verify).
