The Scarlet Monastery Armory is not playable in the beta (level cap 30). The description below comes from pre-launch data (game files and guides), not from play; we check each point in game at launch and update this page.

Who it's for

Level range: 36-44 in most sources (one site relays 32-42).
Both factions: Herod is one of the four kills in each faction's Scarlet Monastery kill quest (Into the Scarlet Monastery for the Horde, In the Name of the Light for the Alliance).
Group: 5 players.

The route, in plain words

The hall. The monastery entrance is in north-east Tirisfal Glades (~85.1, 31.4).
The locked door on the right side of the hall (~85.7, 31.9). The Scarlet Key or a rogue's lockpicking opens it.
The trash. Mobs around level 35-38 (one source).
Herod. The wing's only boss. After his death, Scarlet Trainees (level 30) flood the room.

The bosses in one line each

Herod (level 40 elite): opens with Rushing Charge, then Whirlwind for about 10 seconds (immune to magic, melee step out), Cleave, and an Enrage near the end.

Quests to grab before you go

The Armory has no quest of its own, but Herod counts for these:

Horde: Into the Scarlet Monastery, from Varimathras in Undercity. Kill Loksey, Herod, Mograine and Whitemane. No reward is listed in Forever (known issue).
Alliance: In the Name of the Light, from Raleigh the Devout in Southshore. Same four kills. Reward: Sword of Serenity, Bonebiter, Black Menace or Orb of Lorica.
Hearts of Zeal items also drop here.

Watch out

Get the key first: The Scarlet Key drops in the Library (Doan's Strongbox). It is unique, and one source says it binds on pickup.
The trainee wave after Herod: about twenty of them at once.
Loot is not settled: sources disagree on whether Herod's Shoulder exists in Forever, and on whether the wing changed at all (one guide lists no changes, another lists item and mob changes, such as Ravager's spin now slowing movement by 80%).
Experience: dungeon quests give half their bonus experience since Oct 1; kill experience is up about 20% since Oct 8 (one source).
