Maraudon has not been confirmed as playable in the beta (level cap 30). The description below comes from pre-launch data (game files and guides) and the original game's version of this dungeon; we check each point in game at launch and update this page.
Who it's for
- Groups of 5.
- Both factions: Shadowshard Fragments and Vyletongue Corruption each have a Horde and an Alliance version. The other quests start in Desolace or come from inside the dungeon.
The route, in plain words
In the original game, Maraudon has four sections:
- Orange side: Noxxion and Razorlash.
- Purple side: Tinkerer Gizlock and Lord Vyletongue.
- Poison Falls: Celebras the Cursed.
- Earth Song Falls: Landslide, Rotgrip and Princess Theradras, the last boss.
In the original game you entered through orange and purple portals, and the Scepter of Celebras gave a shortcut. Our Forever source lists one entrance and no named sections. We check the layout in game at launch.
The bosses in one line each
Our sources give no tactics for these bosses yet. Where each one stands in the original game:
- Noxxion and Razorlash: orange side.
- Tinkerer Gizlock and Lord Vyletongue: purple side.
- Celebras the Cursed: Poison Falls.
- Landslide, Rotgrip and Princess Theradras: Earth Song Falls.
Quests to grab before you go
Take these before entering, or you'll run it twice:
- Orgrimmar (Horde) or Dustwallow Marsh (Alliance): Shadowshard Fragments (Uthel'nay or Archmage Tervosh). 10 fragments from rock elementals outside the purple area.
- Desolace: Vyletongue Corruption (Vark Battlescar for the Horde, Talendria for the Alliance): heal 8 Vylestem Vines with the vial.
- Desolace: Twisted Evils (Willow), The Pariah's Instructions (Centaur Pariah, southern Desolace), Legends of Maraudon (Cavindra) and Corruption of Earth and Seed (Selendra or Keeper Marandis, to kill Princess Theradras).
- Chains: Legends of Maraudon leads to The Scepter of Celebras. Seed of Life starts with Zaetar's Spirit after Theradras and ends with Keeper Remulos in Moonglade.
Forever quest levels differ from the original game's (for example Seed of Life: 51 in Forever data, 39 before): to verify.
Watch out
- Layout not confirmed: one source hints that Forever may split Maraudon; the sections above come from the original game.
- The rare Meshlok the Harvester is missing from our Forever data: to verify.
- Experience: the Oct 1 beta build cut the extra dungeon-quest experience by 50%.
FAQ
- Where is the Maraudon entrance in WoW Forever?
- In Desolace. Sources disagree on the spot: one gives 29.2, 62.5, a Classic guide puts the stone door west of the Valley of Spears, around 38, 58. To verify in game.
- What level should you be for Maraudon?
- The Group Finder offers it from level 42. Sources disagree on the entry level (25, 30 or 35) and on the range, so we confirm at launch.
- Is Maraudon split into several dungeons in WoW Forever?
- Unknown. One Forever list names a 'Maraudon: Earth Song Falls' entry, but no other source splits it. In Classic it had several sections inside one dungeon.
- What is the last boss of Maraudon?
- Princess Theradras, in Earth Song Falls. (Classic data, to verify.)
