Taming basics

  • Taming starts at level 10 with a class quest chain: Tame Beast, Beast Training, Feed Pet and Revive Pet unlock along it. A beast must be at or below your level.
  • Up to 3 pets: 1 with you and 2 in the stable; two more stable slots can be bought.
  • Pets scale from your gear and no longer take player buffs that raise their stats.
  • Every family learns Bite or Claw (some both) and Dive or Dash, plus its own family ability.
  • A pet earns 25% of your XP from green or higher kills, gets no quest or rested XP, and stops at your level.
  • Focus regenerates all the time instead of in ticks.

FAQ

When can a Hunter tame a pet in WoW Forever?
At level 10, through a chain of class quests that unlocks Tame Beast, Beast Training, Feed Pet and Revive Pet along the way. The beast must be your level or lower.
How many pets can a Hunter keep?
Up to three: one with you and two in the stable. Two more stable slots can be bought.
What is the best Hunter pet in WoW Forever?
It depends on the job, because each family has its own ability: the Cat's Prowl opens with a stronger attack from stealth, the Turtle's Shell Shield takes less damage, and the Wolf's Furious Howl raises the group's melee attack power. Do pets level up with me?
Yes. A pet gets 25% of your XP from enemies that are green or higher, gets no quest XP or rested XP, and stops at your level.
